I've finally got my race number for the Etape. And its a good one.

We'll start in the 5th wave out of 18 waves of riders. That's 6000 riders starting after us. That should mean the broom wagon is a good hour behind us when it sets off.

6000 riders behind you-that's a massive pack. didn't realise it was that huge.
I think its 18 waves of 500 riders so somewhere between 8,500 and 9,000 riders in total. That's a lot of people to be passed by :-)
That's an enormous pack! You've got a good start position too - I always like to be one of the first few batches out on events.
Just think of all the people you can latch onto when you feel a lil tired ;o)
